SPRES 2nd TRANSNATIONAL MEETING. BREST 18th September 2012. CEDRE, Brest. France
The second meeting of the European project SPRES was held at Cedre on September 18th and 19th. This second meeting was mainly dedicated to the development of high resolution operational models and the production of local scale data (sea level, currents, temperature, salinity…). The different existing models already in use by each country were presented and their capabilities discussed. The meeting at Cedre allowed the participants to discover the flume tank facility and determine the experimental tests to be performed. These tests on oil weathering will be used for models calibration with local conditions and type of oil at risk in the 4 estuaries studied. A model developer from LNEC spent few days at Cedre to observe oil weathering processes in the flume tank.
